This month is especially meaningful to me because suicide prevention is at the heart of my work as Director of Crisis Services at a nonprofit mental health agency. I’ve seen firsthand how much it can mean to have a compassionate, supportive person to talk to when life feels overwhelming.

There’s a song locked away at Dollywood that Dolly Parton wrote and specifically instructed the world not to hear until 2045.

She’s spoken about it several times, saying the song is so good that she actually wished she had put another one away so the world could hear this one.

Just imagine creating something so special that you’re willing to wait decades for the right moment to share it. And maybe the most incredible part is knowing that Dolly created something she believed was that damn good and trusted that someday, the world would be ready for it.

We can’t let her down.

Had an amazing time with Divas by Design and the incredible patrons of Arch & Column in Columbia, MO last night!

The best part was catching up with so many friends and seeing the passion for drag shine through the next generation of performers. As an added bonus, I got to see three of my Metropolitan America sisters coaching, encouraging, and investing in new talent.

I’ve always loved visiting Columbia and this trip was no exception. Next time, I’ll be sure to pack a little snack for after the show.
